Annapurna Base Camp Trek, located at the height of 4130 m from the sea level is one of the most popular and classic trekking routes. It is known for its diverse topography, a wide variety of flora and fauna, and culture complete with rich mountain vistas and eccentric Gurung villages. This region provides the finest and beautiful view of Annapurna I (8091 m.), Mt. Fang (7647 m.), Gangapurna (7454 m.), Annapurna South (7273m.), Mt. Fishtail (6997 m.), Glacier Dome and hundreds of mountains and peaks. Mt. Annapurna (8091 m) is the tenth tallest peak across the world. Annapurna base camp trek is one of the delightful adventures that let you explore culturally rich villages, beautiful green valleys and hills, a forest of swarming Rhododendron, flowery slopes, pasture lands and river gorges with a most beautiful view of sunrise and sunset views of the Himalayan range.
You will reach Annapurna Base Camp through Mt. Machapuchhre (Fishtail) which is admired by the Nepalese for its elegant prettiness. Annapurna Base Camp trek is well-received by various travelers such as the outdoor devotees, solo female traveler, and hikers exploring in groups to Nepal. Annapurna region is also a conservative area where you can witness different rare wild animals like snow leopard, musk, deer, etc. in the forest of rhododendron, pine, oak, and many other trees. You can also find Himalayan tahr, yeti, blue sheep, etc. The flowering vegetation along the way consists of many beautiful flowers among which rhododendron and orchid are the major ones making anyone feel like it is the natural garden. You get to explore the unique culture of Magar and Gurung ethnicity who are the indigenous tribes of Nepal’s hillside. There are 2 or 3 natural hot springs on the way to Annapurna base camp which will help you decrease the tiredness and body pain from the journey. And also not to forget the apple pies made by local people that you can find in some of the tea houses. Annapurna base camp trek starts at Nayapul after a short drive from Pokhara. This trek does not require any previous experience. It also gives a wonderful experience of exploring beautiful Lake City Pokhara. This trekking route is popular among people because it is comparatively easier and adventurous than others. There are two distinct trekking seasons. The best months to trek to Annapurna base camp are pre-monsoon and post-monsoon which falls from February to May and from late September to December. It is possible to make the journey in January and early September but the above preferred months are perfect to treks into Annapurna Base Camp. Most people prefer February, March, November, and December.
